God's Church of Jubot

Ministry Introduction:
Since 1997, God's Church of Jubot in Gressier, Haiti, a non-denominational evangelical church, has been serving Christ through community outreach involving evangelism (Matt 28:18-20) and humanitarian aid (food and medical resources; Matt 25:36; James 2:16). This outreach is critical not only due to the fact that only about 25% percent of the country is evangelical (Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, or other Protestant), but also because the repeated natural disasters (earthquakes and hurricanes) and continuing political instability have left nearly 50% of the population without adequate food and over 200,000 children suffering from some level of malnutrition.
While we are extremely grateful for any help our country receives, through the partnership of American evangelical churches and individuals directly with our indigenous church, rather than third party mission agencies, our church has been able to successfully minister to these spiritual and physical needs far more effectively than foreigners. The immediate needs far outweigh our current level of financial support (Matt 9:37).
Reorganization as JMI
In April 2026, and in order to comply with Haitian laws regulating religious schools and medical missions, God's Church of Jubot had to reorganize legally as Jubot Mission International.

Schools & Medical Ministries must "Register as a Mission"
Since our church decided to pursue opening a Christian school by using the existing church building, then all the church's ministries came under scrutiny from the Haitian government in the required legal process of opening a school. Just like in the United States, churches do not have to incorporate as a nonprofit organization to operate, so also in Haiti, churches do not have to "register as a mission" to operate. However, just as US churches must incorporate for liability protection, to own property, and to open bank accounts, so also in Haiti, churches must "register as a mission" or be an officially recognized religious organization in order to have legal protection for ministries like schools, conduct various other ministries such as medical missions, and receive different legal benefits, such as international importing rights, under the Haitian judicial system. Consequently, and in order to receive these protections and maintain all its current ministries, our church officially registered with the Haitian government to comply with local laws and regulations.

"Registration" as JMI
Although the Haitian process of "registering as a mission" corresponds to the US process of incorporating as a nonprofit, the two procedures are very different. Due to the Haitian legal requirements, our church officially registered with the Haitian government as Jubot Mission International (JMI). However, the Haitian religious organization registration process resulted in a structural reorganization which made the church itself (God's Church of Jubot), the Bobonne church plant, and most of the church's various other ministries—i.e., the school, medical outreach, and feeding program—all the equivalent of US corporate "divisions" under the umbrella organization of JMI. Consequently, and despite the fact that the church is technically now part of the JMI organization, the church's name has not changed and is still God's Church of Jubot in Haiti. Furthermore, when you support Pastor Jeff, you are still supporting God's Church of Jubot in Haiti and its various ministries—only the legal organizational chart and structure of the ministry have changed on paper. There are some practical or actual changes to ministry operation, but you are still supporting the same ministry. The organizational charts may provide some clarification of these changes.
Ministry Overview AFTER Reorganization
Under the reorganization of God's Church of Jubot into Jubot Mission International, the church has become the leadership and development and evangelistic arm of the mission. The other ministries are now legally other "arms," "corporate divisions," or the other 4 of the 5 pillars of JMI.

Evangelism & Outreach
Evangelism and outreach is still the main ministry of God's Church of Jubot. This area is the church's primary focus not only because that is the biblical mandate for all churches (Matt. 28:18–20), but also because of the ministry setting. Haiti is known for its voodoo, black magic/arts, and high crime rate. Additionally, only about 25% percent of the country is evangelical (Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, or other Protestants). The combination of these factors makes evangelism urgent for believers living in our country. Our leadership team does home visitation several times a week for both the church and the community and attempts to visit every church member several times a year. We pray with the sick, offer encouragement, and sometimes deliver food or other necessities. Our church has seen a significant number of people come to Christ due to our ministry. Our goal is to win the Gressier community totally for Christ.
Community Development
We take a leadership role in the community outside the church by encouraging community engagement and ownership by setting an example of love, meeting community needs, and addressing community issues. For example, we led the initiative to build the road that leads to our community. Our church members worked alongside community members to build this road by hand without the aid of modern machinery.

Leadership Development
We have been training local church leaders to preach and teach the Gospel faithfully for service both in the church and the community. We also hold a conference for them and sometimes invite American pastors to teach for a week when conditions in Haiti allow them to visit. We have raised up and ordained many new leaders in our church over the years.
