Feeding Program
Haiti is the poorest country in the in the Western hemisphere. The repeated natural disasters (earthquakes and hurricanes) and continuing political instability have left nearly 50% of the population without adequate food and over 200,000 children suffering from some level of malnutrition. Consequently, there is a great need to not only feed the community as a form of outreach, but also to provide meals for our own congregation. JMI has been providing meals for the last ten years. The meals we serve both groups may be the only time some people get to eat.

Our Feeding Program is a lifeline for many struggling children and families in our community. Every Friday and Saturday at 5:00 PM, hungry children gather with hope in their eyes, waiting for a warm meal that may be the only food they receive that day. In a country where so many families are battling extreme poverty and uncertainty, this ministry has become a source of comfort, dignity, and hope.

Behind every plate of food is a story—mothers who do not know how they will feed their children, elderly people who have been forgotten, and children who come weak and hungry but leave with smiles on their faces. We believe no child should have to suffer from hunger, and through this ministry we are striving to show the love of Christ in the most practical and compassionate way possible.

This outreach is not just about feeding stomachs; it is about reminding people that they are seen, loved, and not forgotten. As we serve meals, we also pray with families, encourage them, and share the hope found in Jesus Christ.

The need continues to grow every week. Yet by God's grace, we continue serving faithfully because we know these families depend on it. Your prayers and support can help us continue bringing nourishment, compassion, and hope to the most vulnerable people in our community.

The feeding program probably is our most supported program. However, and as we have said, the need keeps growing as our outreach expands, with each natural disaster, and the longer the political unrest drags out. Please consider helping with this life sustaining ministry today.
